HISTORY
In 2015, Azarco (who went by Lucassoo in the early years of the band) met a kid named Ryan (who later adopted the nickname Quick Kill) they quickly became close as they had many similar interests, notably Slipknot and heavy metal music. At the time they were both incarcerated at Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Services, a horrible place with worms in the walls that is now under investigation for child sex abuse. The two teens swore that once they were released they would meet up and start the band, that was the original birth of The Jack-O-Lanterns. Azarco had wanted to start a metal band since age 9. Azarco was released a year before Ryan was. After Ryan's letters were suddenly no longer being delivered to Azarco's house (because the cunt doctor refused to send em) Azarco decided to turn to his long time friend Jack to start the band with.
In 2016, Azarco and Jack laid down the early foundation of the band, wanting to write songs simply about murder and destruction, along with themes of rape and torture. They took several photos of themselves with many different masks they created, notably, Azarco wore a simple black face mask that he covered in soda can tabs, cut out the mouth and put white face paint around his mouth. Jack wore a half pink, half green face mask that he clipped the mouth out larger and drew on it with black sharpie, a large B and a large K which were his initials at the time. In late 2016, they switched to a scarecrow mask and a white hockey mask with black paint around the eyes. In this time, they simply attempted to write songs, planning to title their debut EP "The Beginning...EP" and here is when "Transmission 1" "In The Woods" and "You're A Killer Too", were first written, along with the discarded tracks "Bloody Guts" and "Cut You Open". Also planning to call their eventual debut album "Torture Chamber". Not having any instruments or recording equipment at the time, nothing was recorded. Due to an unrelated argument between Jack and Azarco, the band split. Azarco decided to put it on the back burner while waiting for Ryan to hopefully contact him again.
In late 2017, a very important moment happened that reshaped the band. Azarco's innocence was removed once he discovered the horrors of the dark web, more specifically the horrible things that happen in the world, and the awful things people will do. Of course we all know these things happen, but you're not born knowing it, you discover one day the most brutal intentions that someone can have, what could happen to a toddler who was kidnapped, what people will do to make money, things like snuff films, and what goes on in countries of those who do not have the modern morals of America, the list goes on. Also the corrupt secrets of those we are supposed to trust, like in the government. These revelations ignited an epiphany in Azarco to reshape the band into something more than just violence, into something that would hold a mirror to society and show that what we try to ignore or dismiss as just a rumor, really is true. Shortly after, Azarco finally wrote the song that gave him confidence that this band could be real, and defined it as the magnum opus, the song you start with, "Welcome To The Monkey House". Proudly yelling "That's it!" as he recorded demos of the song and listened to it over and over.
In early 2018, Azarco met Mike who was a local couch hopper who did drugs and took advantage of anyone he could, moving himself into your house for as long as he wanted and then attacking you if you said it was time to leave, trashing your house and not respecting you or your property while he was there. Though he had a good quality, he could scream very well and had a lot of interest in making music, so Azarco decided to offer him the chance to join the band, he accepted, thought it didn't last long because his attention span is that of a fly, claiming to have so much desire to be in the band and make music, yet never actually doing anything, while claiming to know more than Azarco yet he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag. Azarco fired him. Now he has 6 kids and smokes meth.
In 2018, Azarco was finally contacted by Ryan who had been released from the hospital and wanted to meet up and begin the band. In addition, another person wanted to join named Jon (Ghost), and Azarco liked the idea of a three piece band. The three got together and revisited the songs written with Jack previously, re working them and attempting to finally make some recordings since Azarco had since obtained instruments and recording equipment and been practicing. Azarco had also completely re worked the image of the band to fit the new themes, wanting every member to look like a serial killer, covered in blood with pumpkin themed masks. They went to Halloween stores and gathered the meanest masks they could find, and added their own touches to each, and each member chose a weapon to dawn in photos. Azarco chose an axe, Ryan chose a chainsaw and Jon chose a meat cleaver, all were real, Azarco refused to use fake weapons. They made some recordings and took several photos, while not doing much in the long run, this era was an important step in the band's progression.
After a few months, issues begin rising, most notably that neither Ryan or Jon had any vocal talent, being unable to scream or do harsh vocals. Azarco decided to try and teach them, but it didn't go anywhere. In addition, Ryan suddenly decided he wanted to marry a very annoying bitch he had just met, so he returned to his hometown and got married. Azarco contacted Jack and asked if he'd be interested in rejoining the band, explaining to him the new direction and visual of the band, which Jack was very interested in. Having Jack back meant the harsh vocal duties were now successfully filled and they hoped to come up with a good way for Jon to contribute. They took new pictures with this line-up and began new recordings. Though Jon was unhappy with Jack being part of the band and decided he was going to destroy it, the fact of the matter being that the band was not important to him at all and he wanted something he could be in control of. Jon began messaging Azarco and Jack separately, trying to pin them against each other, saying one was talking shit on the other. At the time being non the wiser, Jack and Azarco began to fight, nearly turning psychical. Jon also stole video game from Azarco and sold them at a GameStop, and blaming Jack for it. Due to all the confusion, finger pointing and fighting, the band split up. For the best since Jon was the most untalented, untrustworthy, and scummy person they'd ever met. Jon now smokes meth and just bounces around house to house fucking ugly fat ogre women for a roof over his head. Claiming to be a rapper but he's worse than a SoundCloud mumble rapper.
In 2019, Ryan asked Azarco to continue the band with just him. Seeing no alternative, he agreed and they got together once more and continued recording demos and even appeared in costume at Sci-Fi Valley Con. This did not last long again, as Ryan decided the band was too much work and he wanted to spend more time with his annoying hoe. Azarco was worn out at this point, done with people coming and going, never showing commitment and the fact that only Jack had any talent for it to begin with.
In 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown, Azarco and Jack had a conversation that went different, passion was showing and new ideas were flowing. They talked out the issues and realized they weren't against each other but it was Jon in their ears. They now had experience beyond their original 2016 jam sessions, and were ready to bring the band to life, leaving all the crappy people behind and bringing it to life in a new way. They began writing songs for what was to become Torture Chamber, their debut album. They brought back old songs and updated them, wrote new songs and even ordered custom masks to be made from scratch by an artist. Wanting a professional sound, they contacted Intrinzik to mix their album. He gave it effects and filters that completely blew Jack and Azarco away.
The first song they completed was "Judgement Day", though in the end Azarco felt like it didn't seem like a song that fit this band, though the effects and quality of the mix excited him, not thinking they could sound that good. Though this was a negative in a sense, because it caused Azarco to become blind to errors in other songs that needed to be worked on further, because Azarco was so excited to release the album, the quality began to slip. Several songs on the album ended up not being as good as others, and a few seemed to similar to others, leaving a good and bad version of a couple tracks. "You're A Killer Too" was messed up during mixing, but Azarco didn't want to deal with it and have Intrinzik remix it again. "You're Fucked" and "Origins" being Azarco's most disliked songs on the album. The biggest issue being the vocal tracks used on "Welcome To The Monkey House" being particularly bad, Azarco using a take from the demo that didn't have effort in it and was recorded in a large attic, and Jack using a take which he wore his mask while recording, causing him to be muffled. Many mistakes, errors, and overall bad decisions were left on the album, because they just went over the band's heads due to their excitement to just release it. The ordered 100 copies of the CD, the cover being a creepy face made with Charles Manson's eyes and a wide grin.
Filming three music videos for "Monkey House", "The Obsession", and "In The Woods", and releasing the album on October 30th 2020, the album was not well received, most notably the vocals on "Monkey House" and the other few poor quality tracks. YouTube channel Jerkoffilms reviewed "Monkey House" and shit all over it, leading to their followers to bomb dislike the band's videos, as sheep follow a heard. What was funny was how retarded their arguments were, like how they didn't understand what J-O-L meant, it's the same as I.C.P. is it not? Also shitting on us for wearing our own merch, as if no band in the history of music has ever done that before. If we ever see those two retards or their hoes in public we will skin them alive and force hydrofluoric acid down their throats and light them on fire. In addition, the commenters were even more retarded, thinking we were supporters of Jeffrey Epstein and completely misunderstanding the messages of the song, yet someone with at least one single brain cell should be able to gather that our message is to expose what he and others in power have done. The band played one show at a small event in a New Jersey suburban neighborhood, offending neighbors with their lyrics. The show was a failure since Jack was mentally not there, missing his parts and looking at the ground the entire time.
In early 2021, a music video was made for "The Plague Doctor" and shortly after the band decided there was no use in continuing to promote an album that not only the public disliked but they disliked themselves. You don't want to promote something you only half like, saying to skip a few tracks and get to the good ones, there's no point there. Wanting to move onto another project and leave this one behind, they took everything down and moved on, hoping to one day revisit it, but unsure of how. This is when they created and focused on Hollywood Alive.
In 2023, some talentless children from another country stole our name, and social tags. Literally calling themselves The Jack-O-Lanterns and using The JOL Band across their socials. They are already no longer posting any content.
In early 2024, Jack and Azarco decided to revisit the band, coming up with the idea to release an EP with only the best songs off the album and fixing the mistakes on "Monkey House" and "You're A Killer Too", mainly re-recording their vocals the best they could do on their own. Also recut and fixed their music videos. Who gives a shit if others like it or not, now they had something to show for all the hard work they'd put into this band over several years. They completed the re-recordings in early 2025 and released the EP in June, also filming a new music video for "In The Woods". Releasing the EP was the only intention of the duo, and the band has officially ended.
Below is some images of the band from 2016 to 2021.
